Ashley has just gotten out of the hot tub when her phone rings. It’s her boyfriend, calling about their big date they have planned tonight. She tells him she just needs to take a shower first, and she sits on her bed, fantasizing about him asking her the big question. She gazes dreamily at her ring finger, thinking about what a wonderful wife she will be. Exhausted from swimming, she falls asleep.

Suddenly she wakes up and checks the time, but luckily she has enough time to shower. She quickly goes into the bathroom and peels off her bathing suit. She turns on the shower and hops in, washing herself quickly so she has enough time to get ready. She has to look her best so that when her boyfriend kneels and slides the beautiful ring on her finger he will only be thinking about how beautiful his future wife is.

Since she’s so preoccupied by the exciting night ahead of her, she doesn’t hear the man slink into the room. He is wearing a blonde wig, and holds a knife at the ready. Suddenly she becomes aware of the presence behind her and whips her head around just as the man plunges his knife into her chest. She screams and he continues to stab her, blood pouring from her open wounds. Panicking, she flails around and throws a punch in his general direction, he staggers backward, but this only incites rage so he presses his knife against her throat and drags, splitting open her skin and windpipe, blood pouring down her body.

To be sure she isn’t a nuisance, the mysterious man smashes her head against the shower wall. Dizzy from bloodless and the blow to the skull, Ashley falls to her knees. She tries to get to her phone, crawling along the floor, but slipping in the water, and soap, and blood. Her body starts to shake violently, blood leaking out of her mouth, and sliding down the drain. She thinks about her life, her childhood, her parents, her fiancé. She missed his arms around her, she wanted to smell him and feel his lips against her cheek. She imagined walking down the aisle in the beautiful white gown she’d always dreamt of, with lilies lining the altar as she said “I do” to the man of her dreams.

But she knew she would never do any of that. With one last gasping breath, all her dreams are washed down the drain, mixing with the blood and urine that is leaking from her failing body. She will never be a beautiful blushing bride. But she will definitely be late for dinner.
